Class 6 · Computational Thinking and AI worksheetIntroduction to AI and Everyday Examples
CBSE Computational Thinking and AI. What AI is, AI and automation, human and machine intelligence, supervised, unsupervised and reinforcement learning, accuracy and rewards. Every sheet has 20 questions in three sections and an answer key, and the questions change every time.

Section A · multiple choice
- 1.
Artificial Intelligence (AI) is the ability of machines to:
- only add numbers
- feel emotions like people
- run without electricity
- do tasks that usually need human thinking, like recognising or deciding
Answer
(d) do tasks that usually need human thinking, like recognising or deciding
- 2.
Which of these uses AI (it learns from data to recognise or predict)?
- a voice assistant that answers spoken questions
- a ceiling fan with a fixed timer
- a toaster that pops up after a set time
- a water pump that starts when the tank is empty
Answer
(a) a voice assistant that answers spoken questions
- 3.
Which of these is automation only (it follows a fixed rule and does not learn)?
- a homework helper that recognises handwritten digits
- a maps app that predicts traffic and suggests a faster route
- a school bell that rings at set times
- a phone camera that finds the faces in a photo
Answer
(c) a school bell that rings at set times
Section B · short answer
- 4.
What is Artificial Intelligence?
Answer
The ability of a machine or computer program to do tasks that normally need human intelligence, such as recognising pictures, understanding speech or making predictions.
- 5.
Write AI or automation for each: (a) a water pump that starts when the tank is empty (b) a ceiling fan with a fixed timer
Answer
(a) automation (b) automation
Section C · long answer
- 6.
Explain the difference between automation and AI with two examples of each.
Answer
Automation follows fixed rules: a street light that switches on at 6 p.m., an automatic door. AI learns from data: a maps app that predicts traffic, a camera that recognises faces. AI can handle new cases; automation cannot change its rule.
Fresh sheets for your child
In the app, every Introduction to AI and Everyday Examples sheet is new: the app remembers the questions your child has already had and leaves them out. Print the sheet as a PDF, or use notebook mode and write the answers in a notebook.
